Mardi Gras Slide Show

Mardi Gras in New Orleans became a theme on mine when I moved from the French Quarter to Uptown. 

At first the floats, activities, the bands, marching groups, flambeaux, and the beautifully attired captains, many on horseback or chariots, were to complex to paint. I took a lot of photos. I decided on a more immediate way of depicting one of the great traditions of New Orleans than my more realistic approach.
