The painting, “Before and After”, presents the viewer with and image of what is inside us physically. We are invited to consider what is inside our minds and hearts as well. The subconscious aspects of our lives are mostly overlooked. We don’t notice when we are being mean most times. Sometimes it occurs to us later, sometimes not. 
Life and death are both mysteries. They are compelling forces in our mental and emotional evolution.
This is a pastel painting, 30x34 inches. It is the companion piece to “Pandora”. The model for Pandora was my life partner and “Before and After” is a self-portrait. In 1988, I submitted it to the American Artists Professional League National Exhibition in NYC. It won Best of Show.
