Mary was in her nineties. I painted her in oils. The whole cat was in the painting but got cropped out somehow. She lived on the third floor of the Pontalba Apts.  She had been married to Henry Feitel, the administrator of the Delgado Museum before it became the New Orleans Museum of Art. He could also paint a hell of a portrait. Mary was a librarian and kept his memory alive in her heart.
