15x20 pastel on homemade pumiced rag board.

I have noticed that in describing the paintings for my website I have been telling my life story. This trip to Taos was the third trip out west. I spent a winter and spring. It was a sabbatical after my youngest boy graduated from Tulane in New Orleans. I had studied Mental Yoga for all my adult life. I now had the opportunity to put into practice the principles in that discipline. I told the story in an e-book from a few years ago.

I rented this adobe cabin the afternoon of the last day of 1999. It was at the end of a dead in dirt road so it was quiet. No one ever drove past. I had well water, two world class NPR stations, and a good wood burning stove. The story continues in the next painting.
