12x16 oil on canvas plein air

I had been planning to paint the lake from this spot for some time. Water is plentiful in East Texas. The town gets its water from the lake. It was snowing when I drove past and I decided to paint anyway. Flakes landed on the canvas sometimes and the color would not brush on even. It looked like it was snowing. I never liked the idea of putting a mark with a brush to indicate a snowflake. They are too delicate. This motif gave me the opportunity to use more neutral colors.
